Basic Police
Training
The
Arkansas Basic Police Training Course curriculum is mandated by
state laws and guided by various rules and regulations and administrative
procedures. This twelve (12) week course provides instruction
and practical application in the following areas of law enforcement:
criminal investigation, accident investigation, firearms, non
deadly defensive tactics, officer safety techniques, traffic law,
criminal law, civil liability and other legal aspects of law enforcement,
first aid, crime prevention, crisis intervention, cultural diversity,
and other general areas of importance to officers beginning their
career. This course is offered four (4) times yearly at the Arkansas
Law Enforcement Training Academy only, with limited enrollment.
